According to Secretary of State Marco Rubio, President Donald Trump is very serious about acquiring the country of Greenland. He said that the president’s comments are “not a joke” and that it is in the United States “national interest” to do so.
“This is not a joke. This is not about acquiring land for the purpose of acquiring land. This is in our national interest and it needs to be solved,” Rubio said during his appearance on “The Megyn Kelly Show”.

The comments came after Trump had a fiery call with Denmark’s PM leaving Danish officials "utterly freaked out."

His remarks come just days after Trump had an explosive 45-minute call with Denmark’s Prime Minister, which left Danish officials “utterly freaked out.”

According to one of the officials on the call, “[Trump] was very firm. It was a cold shower. Before, it was hard to take it seriously. But I do think it is serious and potentially very dangerous.”
“The intent was very clear. They want it. The Danes are now in crisis mode. The Danes are utterly freaked out by this,” the official added. “It was a very tough conversation. He threatened specific measures against Denmark such as targeted tariffs.”
