In the current political climate, it’s crystal clear that Republicans are in desperate need of a “bold Senate GOP leader,” as Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) emphasized on Tuesday. It’s time to shake things up and replace the old guard with someone who truly embodies conservative values and can effectively counter the Democrats’ disastrous policies. The race is on between three Republican senators—Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL), Senate Republican Whip John Thune (R-SD), and Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX)—to take the reins as the next Senate Majority Leader.
On Monday, Lee hinted at his plans to organize a “candidate forum for the three senators running to become the next Senate Republican leader,” seeking input from his followers on X for potential questions to ask these candidates. Among the responses were crucial questions such as: “If they could only keep 10% of the existing agencies, which would they be?” and “How do they see the shrinking of the US bureaucrats as a part of rebuilding America? Do they believe in zero-based budgeting?”
Tomorrow evening I’ll be hosting a candidate forum for the three senators running to become the next Senate Republican leader
What questions would you ask the candidates if you were in the room?

Lee further stated on Tuesday, “I hope and expect to hear detailed plans from each of the three Senate majority leader candidates tonight and tomorrow, outlining a clear vision—including what they hope to accomplish and how they plan to go about it.” His call for action was clear: “We need a bold Senate GOP leader,” he declared. “With detailed plans,” he demanded, adding, “Now.”

Scott, Thune, and Cornyn are vying to succeed Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), whose leadership has been questioned by many Republicans following his mishandling of the immigration bill and his mysterious health episodes last year.
Sen. Rick Scott has emerged as a frontrunner among proponents of the MAGA agenda, earning support from influential figures like Elon Musk and Tucker Carlson. Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) is also backing Scott, praising his unparalleled business acumen and leadership skills.
“In this case now, for President Trump, we need a majority leader that’s going to work hand in glove with President Trump” and not resist the America First agenda, Johnson told Breitbart News Daily.
Johnson continued to express his support for Scott by stating, “That’s why I’m a big supporter of Senator Rick Scott. I don’t know anybody in Congress that is more accomplished than Rick—success in business, developed and ran the eighth largest employer in America with Hospital Corporation America, and then transferred those managerial skills to really turning Florida around and setting Governor DeSantis up for success, and he’s been my primary ally in the United States Senate.” He added that Scott is “brilliant” and likened him to a “perpetual motion machine.”
On Tuesday, Scott reiterated his commitment to “enact President Trump’s agenda.” Meanwhile, Cornyn has rallied his colleagues with the message that “In order to Make America Great Again, we must Make the Senate Work Again.” Thune also emphasized on Tuesday that lawmakers “must prepare the Senate to advance President Trump’s agenda legislatively and ensure that the president-elect can hit the ground running with his appointees confirmed as soon as possible.”
