GUILTY! Greenpeace Activists Found Liable Over Dakota Pipeline Protests, Awards $660 million

0

A North Dakota jury found Greenpeace liable for over $660 million in damages to Energy Transfer, the company behind the Dakota Access Pipeline.

The lawsuit, which claimed Greenpeace’s support for the protests delayed pipeline construction and caused financial harm, was met with Greenpeace’s assertion that the verdict could chill free speech. Greenpeace plans to appeal the decision and has countersued Energy Transfer in the Netherlands.

As reported by The Center Square:

A North Dakota jury of nine on Wednesday found environmental activist group Greenpeace liable for hundreds of millions of dollars in damages in a years-long lawsuit brought by Energy Transfer, the company that built the Dakota Access Pipeline that became the subject of sometimes violent protests and international attention.

Energy Transfer sued Greenpeace for $300 million over the protests that delayed the pipeline’s completion by five months, but jurors awarded the energy infrastructure giant and its subsidiary, Dakota Access LLC, a total of more than $660 million.

Energy Transfer retained lawyers from international law firm Gibson and Dunn. The lawsuit’s lead attorney, Trey Cox, gave a statement after the verdict Wednesday.

“This victory is a triumph for many. We hope this condemnation of Greenpeace will bring some measure of healing and closure to the Morton County community [where the sometimes violent protests occurred] and the entire state of North Dakota,” Cox told reporters outside the courthouse. “While Energy Transfer and DAPL were victorious in the courtroom, this is a resounding win for the people of Bismarck, Mandan, and Morton County, as well as the law enforcement officers across this state who diligently worked and risked their lives to maintain order.”

Cox also said Wednesday’s verdict was aligned with the U.S. Constitution and the First Amendment, though Greenpeace has said the lawsuit could have a chilling effect on free speech.

“[Today] is a day of celebration for the Constitution, the state of North Dakota and Energy Transfer,” Cox said. “This verdict serves as a powerful affirmation of the First Amendment. Peaceful protest is an inherent American right; however, violent and destructive protest is unlawful and unacceptable.”

In 2016 and 2017, Dakota Access LLC installed the Dakota Access Pipeline, a near 1,200-mile crude oil pipeline running from shale fields in North Dakota to Illinois. What began as a small protest to the pipeline by some members of The Standing Rock Sioux Tribe for environmental and cultural reasons quickly grew in size and scope.

The sometimes violent protests garnered international attention and drew more than 100,000 people to the area from April 2016 through most of February 2017. Greenpeace supported the protests with funding and other support. Energy Transfer blamed the environmental group for some of the unlawful acts that took place there including vandalism – as well as for the eventual decision of nearly half the pipeline’s investors to reduce or end their commitment to the project.

Though the decision was a blow to Greenpeace, its team of attorneys remained confident after the verdict the environmental group’s work would continue. Greenpeace had said the $300 million figure could bring about its financial ruin, but Senior Legal Advisor for Greenpeace USA Deepa Padmanabha said the organization would find a way to carry on its work.

“The work of Greenpeace is never going to stop. That’s the really important message today,” said Padmanabha. “We’re just walking out, [but] we’re going to get together and figure out what our next steps are.”

I would say the actor’s last name is very fitting, given his crybaby tendencies. Stick to acting, my man!

Trump Reveals Agreements Made During Call with Putin

0

On Tuesday, President Donald Trump revealed the agreements made during his conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, including an immediate ceasefire on infrastructure and energy in the Ukraine War.

Trump posted on Truth Social that the call lasted over two hours, but “was a very good and productive one.”

“We agreed to an immediate Ceasefire on all Energy and Infrastructure, with an understanding that we will be working quickly to have a Complete Ceasefire and, ultimately, an END to this very horrible War between Russia and Ukraine,” he explained.

Breitbart reports:

The Kremlin said Putin had “responded positively” to the proposal of a 30-day energy infrastructure ceasefire “and immediately gave the Russian military the corresponding order,” according to a translation.

Negotiations around a Black Sea maritime ceasefire and a full ceasefire are set to begin immediately in the Middle East, as noted in a statement by the White House.

Trump also revealed that he and Putin discussed several aspects of a peace deal, noting that the war would have never started if he had been the sitting president.

“Many elements of a Contract for Peace were discussed, including the fact that thousands of soldiers are being killed, and both President Putin and President Zelenskyy would like to see it end,” the president said. “That process is now in full force and effect, and we will, hopefully, for the sake of Humanity, get the job done!”

“The two leaders agreed that a future with an improved bilateral relationship between the United States and Russia has huge upside,” the White House said in a statement. “This includes enormous economic deals and geopolitical stability when peace has been achieved.”

Angry Bernie Resorts to Fear-mongering: ‘Americans Should be Frightened’

On Tuesday, Senator Bernie Sanders appeared on CNN’s “The Source” and claimed that Americans should be scared because President Donald Trump doesn’t “respect our Constitution.”

Sanders declared, “Look, you know, the guys who wrote the Constitution back in the 1790s when nobody’s fools, what they wanted to do is have a separation of powers between the executive, the legislative, and the judiciary so that one person could not assume enormous power. And what you are seeing right now is a president who is authoritarian. He just attacked the media the other day. I think he called CNN illegal because I gather that now and then, you criticize him. He has tried to encroach on the constitutional responsibilities and spending powers of Congress, and now he’s going after the courts.”

He continued, “If somebody is a corrupt judge, that person can and should be impeached, but not because you voiced an opinion. That’s why these guys have life terms: they are immune from these types of attacks and can be objective in their judgment.”

Sanders added, “We live in a society of rule of law. The Supreme Court has its power, judges have their power, and it should frighten every American, whether you’re conservative or progressive, that you have a president who does not respect our Constitution and wants more and more power for himself. It’s very dangerous.”

Trump Speaks Out on Defying Court Orders (WATCH)

On Tuesday, Fox News Channel’s “Ingraham Angle” aired an interview with President Donald Trump, during which he spoke on speculation of him defying court orders that he doesn’t agree with. He declared that he has not defied an order, and that he won’t do so in the future either.

While discussing Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, James Boasberg, FNC host Laura Ingraham said that Boasberg is “leading people to wonder whether there are court orders that you will defy because you believe that the judge has no jurisdiction or there are political questions and not justiciable at all.” She asked, “And what would you say to that? Are there circumstances where you would defy a court order?”

Trump replied that despite being through many courts in which he disagreed, “I never did defy a court order.”

Ingraham pressed, “And you wouldn’t in the future?”

Trump responded, “No. You can’t do that. However, we have bad judges. We have very bad judges. And these are judges that shouldn’t be allowed, — I think, at a certain point, you have to start looking at what do you do when you have a rogue judge? The Judge that we’re talking about he’s — you look at his other rulings, rulings unrelated, but having to do with me, he’s a lunatic.”

The president then revealed that he believes he will be vindicated at the Supreme Court in the deportation case.

PRICELESS: Illegal Trafficking Fentanyl SOBS as ICE Arrests Her

0

On Wednesday, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested an illegal immigrant with known drug tracking convictions, in Philadelphia. Needless to say, she was NOT happy about it.

On Thursday, ICE announced that 36-year-old Virginia Basora-Gonzalez from the Dominican Republic was apprehended by a joint task force made of ICE, the U.S. Marshals Service, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.

The photos we got out of the OP are absolutely PRICELESS. Images have gone viral on social media, showing the moment authorities caught the woman, who was sobbing over being caught.

LOL! Homegirl looks like she just ate the most sour warhead of her life.

Social media users had no sympathy for her tears. One person replied, “Now talk about all the families that have wept and sobbed over the loved ones they’ve lost to overdoses from the drugs that she sold. Good riddance.”

“Well I got nothing to say about that picture other than adios!” another user added.

ICE revealed that Basora-Gonzalez’s prior convictions included “attempted possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and aiding and abetting. She was previously removed from the U.S. and reentered the country without admission by an immigration official.”

Breitbart reports:

In June 2019, she was charged with attempted possession with intent to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl and aiding and abetting. In March 2020, she pleaded guilty to the charges against her and was sentenced to just over 12 months confinement and four years of supervised release, ICE said.

The agency also noted that in October 2020, U.S. officials removed her to the Dominican Republic.

“ICE issued Basora-Gonzalez a notice of intent to reinstate final order of removal March 12 and on the same day obtained a federal arrest warrant and criminal complaint from a U.S. magistrate judge and turned her over to the U.S. Marshals Service. She will remain in federal custody pending charges for reentry after deportation in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania,” the agency added.

Good riddance!

Crockett Blasts Schumer, Says Americans Want ‘Younger, Fresher Leadership’

0

On Sunday, Democrat Rep. Jasmine Crockett appeared on CNN’s “State of the Union” and trashed Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer for his vote alongside Republicans on a bill to stop the government from shutting down. According to her, Schumer is old news and Americans want fresh, young leadership.

Crockett declared, “I understand that the American people are frustrated. Please believe many of us did not sleep because we were calling and trying to impress upon the Senators the importance of pushing back in this moment. As you saw, we had all but one Democrat in the House that voted for this. So that’s 212 Democrats in the House. And then you had the vast majority of senators vote for it or vote against it as well. And so the idea that Chuck Schumer is the only one that’s got a brain in the room and the only one that can think through all of the pros and cons is absolutely ridiculous.”

Host Jake Tapper asked, “Some progressive groups are calling for new leadership in the Senate for Democrats. Even House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries is your leader. He was asked if he supports Schumer as leader of the Senate Democrats, and he said, “Next question. Do you think Senate Democrats should replace Chuck Schumer?”

Crocket replied, “I think Senate Democrats have to sit down and take a look and decide whether or not Chuck Schumer is the one to lead in this moment.”

She added, “I definitely think that younger, fresher leadership may be something that many of us, not just depending on what part of the spectrum you’re on, but many Americans may be looking for, especially in the state of New York.”

Report: Trump to Talk Dividing ‘Land, Power Plants’ With Putin on Tuesday

0

According to reports, President Donald Trump is confirmed to be holding an Ukraine peace talk with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday, during which they will talk land and power plants.

Breitbart reports:

Negotiations over the future of the Ukraine War have been continuing behind closed doors between the United States of America and the Russian Federation, President Trump said, as he revealed that leader talks are scheduled for Tuesday.

President Trump greeted journalists aboard Air Force One as he flew from Florida to Washington D.C. late Sunday night and opened with thoughts on the Ukraine War before taking questions. Summarising the advances in communications with Russia in recent days — which, until weeks ago, the two countries had been out of contact for years, following the Biden Presidency’s freeze in response to Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine — President Trump remarked: “We learned a lot, we’re doing pretty well I think with Russia. We’ll see if we have something to announce maybe, by Tuesday.”

Trump revealed,  “I’ll be speaking to President Putin on Tuesday, a lot of work has been done over the weekend. We want to see if we can bring that war to an end. Maybe we can, maybe we can’t, but I think we have a very good chance.”

He also stated that there were ongoing discussions on “dividing up certain assets” with  “a lot of it already discussed very much by both sides, Ukraine and Russia”.

Trump continued, “I think we’ll be talking about land. There’s a lot of land, it’s a lot different than it was before the war as you know. We’ll be talking about land, we’ll be talking about power plants because that’s a big question.”

The president did not specify which power plants they were set to discuss, it is speculated that the famous Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant will be among them.

The two world leaders’ last known talk was on February 12th.

Trump Declares Biden Pardons VOID Due to Autopen Signatures

On Monday, President Donald Trump declared that President Joe Biden’s pardons should be voided because of Biden’s use of an autopen to sign them. He also alleged that Biden didn’t even know about the the documents that were signed.

“The ‘Pardons’ that Sleepy Joe Biden gave to the Unselect Committee of Political Thugs, and many others, are hereby declared VOID, VACANT, AND OF NO FURTHER FORCE OR EFFECT, because of the fact that they were done by Autopen,” Trump said in a Truth Social post.

He continued, “In other words, Joe Biden did not sign them but, more importantly, he did not know anything about them! The necessary Pardoning Documents were not explained to, or approved by, Biden. He knew nothing about them, and the people that did may have committed a crime,” Trump added.

The president added, “Therefore, those on the Unselect Committee, who destroyed and deleted ALL evidence obtained during their two year Witch Hunt of me, and many other innocent people, should fully understand that they are subject to investigation at the highest level. The fact is, they were probably responsible for the Documents that were signed on their behalf without the knowledge or consent of the Worst President in the History of our Country, Crooked Joe Biden!”

On Sunday evening, while aboard the Air Force One, Trump was asked if the executive orders and pardons signed by Biden via autopen would be considered void.

He replied, “I think so. It’s not my decision. That would be up to a court.”

Fox News reports:

Trump’s comments come after the Heritage Foundation’s Oversight Project suggested that an autopen had been heavily used during Biden’s White House tenure.

“We gathered every document we could find with Biden’s signature over the course of his presidency. All used the same autopen signature except for the announcement that the former President was dropping out of the race last year. Here is the autopen signature,” the Oversight Project declared in a post on X earlier this month.

In a statement on Jan. 20, the same day he departed from office, Biden announced that he was pardoning “General Mark A. Milley, Dr. Anthony S. Fauci, the Members of Congress and staff who served on the Select Committee, and the U.S. Capitol and D.C. Metropolitan police officers who testified before the Select Committee.”

“These public servants have served our nation with honor and distinction and do not deserve to be the targets of unjustified and politically motivated prosecutions,” he noted.

Wouldn’t it be quite the rollercoaster ride if they are deemed void. Dr. Anthony Fauci is punching the air right now!
