Vance Skewers McConnell Over ‘Greatest Act of Political Pettiness’

On Tuesday, Vice President J.D. Vance called out Senator Mitch McConnell for his recent pattern of voting that is not in line with Republicans or the America First agenda. He declared that it shows a unique level of “pettiness” to go against President Donald Trump.

On Tuesday, the Senate confirmed Elbridge Colby as undersecretary of defense for policy. The vote was 54-45, with McConnell being the only GOP member to cross lines and vote alongside Democrats.

In response, Vance wrote on x, “Mitch’s vote today—like so much of the last few years of his career—is one of the great acts of political pettiness I’ve ever seen.”

Newsmax reports:

McConnell has drawn the ire of the new Trump administration from Day 1, making a point of voting against the president’s Cabinet appointees, starting with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.

McConnell reportedly told colleagues that he felt “liberated” after stepping down from his position as Senate Republican leader, giving him new freedom to be an independent voice. Vance was ultimately needed to cast the tiebreaking vote to confirm Hegseth. McConnell also voted against Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard and Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

“The prioritization that Mr. Colby argues is fresh, new, and urgently needed is, in fact, a return to an Obama-era conception of a la carte geostrategy. Abandoning Ukraine and Europe and downplaying the Middle East to prioritize the Indo-Pacific is not a clever geopolitical chess move,” McConnell declared, seemingly justifying his vote.

Carney Challenges CNN’s Quest on Market Response to Trump Tariff Strategy

0

On Monday, Breitbart News economics editor John Carney appeared on CNN’s “Newsnight” and challenged CNN International’s Richard Quest on the market response to the tariff strategy implemented by the Trump administration.

Carney argued that the market’s response should not take precedence over the public policy.

A partial transcript as follows:

QUEST: Can I just tell you something? I’m tired of sitting in debates like this and having everybody say, oh, you know, you elites, you people of this — at the top, you at this, you at that all day. I’ve heard this. The reality is, yes, there are maybe a smaller section of the country that is share-owning in their own right, but millions of people have 401(k)s. And even if you don’t have a 401(k) or you don’t have a retirement account, your company depends on the market.

CARNEY: I don’t think we should give the stock market a veto over the public policy of the United States. And so if the stock market doesn’t like us doing the right thing, just like Jay Powell didn’t do, the Fed doesn’t say, oh no, we can’t raise interest rates because of —

QUEST: No. The Fed — whoa.

CARNEY: You might not —

QUEST: The markets knew that the Fed had to do it to get rid of inflation.

CARNEY: The market went down. And why did it go down?

QUEST: Yes, they didn’t like it, but they knew that was the orthodox that. And they knew that was the orthodox monetary policy that was falling —

CARNEY: And this is what we’re doing today.

QUEST: This is not orthodox.

CARNEY: It’s not orthodox, you are absolutely correct, but the market will realize that this is the right thing to do and it’s necessary. We had no choice.

Rand Paul Goes on Word Salad Rant About Tariffs: ‘Absolutely a Fallacy’

On Tuesday, Senator Rand Paul appeared on CNBC’s “Squawk Box” and went on a rant about the United States being ripped off due to a trade deficit with another country, declaring it a “fallacy.”

Paul declared, “I mean, the whole debate is so fundamentally backwards and upside down. It’s based on a fallacy, and the fallacy is this, that somehow, in a trade, someone must lose. That somehow, when you trade with someone, there’s a loser and someone’s taking advantage of you, and China is ripping you off, or Japan is ripping you off. It’s absolutely a fallacy. Every trade that occurs in the marketplace is mutually beneficial.”

His word salad continued, “If you have a free society and I trade with you, if you want to sell me your coat and I give you $200 for it, we both agree to it and we’re both happy with the trade. No American consumer trades with China. They trade with Wal-Mart or they may buy something from China, but they individually buy something they want and they make a decision. The trade is always a win-win. Now you can artificially do this accounting between countries and say, ‘Oh, trade deficit, look at this trade deficit,’ but I have a trade deficit with my grocery store.”

The senator added, “The people who employ me, if I work for Corvette and they employ me, they have a trade deficit with my labor. They buy my labor and I never buy their cars. So you can have this artificial accounting and it makes it look like a bad thing, but you have to ask yourself, is trade good or bad? And if you look at the trade deficit, in times of a recession the trade deficit goes down. So if the tariffs push us into a recession, we could reduce the trade deficit because we’re all buying less stuff. We have to get back to the fundamentals of, is trade good or is trade bad?”

Ohio’s Ban on Puberty Blockers for Minors Blocked, Replaced with New Ban

0

Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost appealed a ruling declaring the state’s ban on puberty blockers for minors unconstitutional. The ruling blocked the ban on puberty blockers but left in place bans on gender-affirming surgeries and boys playing girls’ sports.

The Center Square reports:

State Attorney General Dave Yost took his fight to keep the state’s ban on puberty blockers in place to the Ohio Supreme Court.

After an appeals court failed to issue a stay to its ruling that ruled the ban unconstitutional, Yost wants the state’s higher court to leave the law in place while he continues to appeal.

Yost filed his second motion for a stay late Thursday.

“This fight is far from over – and until it is, there’s no sense in toggling the law on and off like a light switch,” Yost said in a statement. “With the case now in the hands of the Ohio Supreme Court, we believe the law remains in effect as the case moves forward. We hope that the Ohio Supreme Court will confirm that, so there’s no doubt that our children remain protected.”

The 10th District Court of Appeals denial of Yost’s first motion for a stay leaves a Franklin County Court of Common Pleas injunction stopping part of House Bill 68 from taking effect.

Yost appealed that ruling and lost in the 10th District. He’s appealing the injunction to the Supreme Court.

“We look forward to showing once again that the Legislature acted properly in enacting this constitutional law, which protects our children from irreversible medical decisions,” Yost said. “I remain confident that the law will be upheld.”

The court blocked the provision that banned puberty blockers and other prescription drugs for minors. It left in place a ban on gender-affirming surgeries for minors and a ban on boys playing girls sports.

The lawsuit, filed a year ago by two sets of parents with help from the ACLU, did not challenge House Bill 68’s provisions that banned gender-affirming surgery for minors and males playing female sports.

The ruling said the state does not ban the same drugs when used for other reasons, which makes the ban inequitable. It also said the ban interferes with parents’ rights to make health care decisions for their children.

Nevada Lawmaker Introduces Major Social Security Boost

0

U.S. Senator Katherine Cortez Masto introduced the SSI Savings Penalty Elimination Act, which aims to raise the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) asset limit from $2,000 to $10,000 for individuals and from $3,000 to $20,000 for couples. The bill, which has bipartisan support, would also guarantee regular adjustments for inflation and is expected to make over 200,000 Americans newly eligible for the program.

The Center Square reports:

More than 7 million Americans and 50,000 Nevada residents receive monthly payments from the Social Security Administration’s Supplemental Security Income program for the elderly and people with significant disabilities.

The SSI program is intended for people with little money or income. Signed into law under President Richard Nixon’s administration, the program sets the maximum finances for somebody to receive help from SSI at $2,000 – and $3,000 for a married couple. Today, an elderly disabled person with $2,500 in total value of all of their assets is still deemed too well-off to receive any money through this program.

“A $2,000 rainy-day fund doesn’t go as far as it did in 1989, but that’s all the savings that people who rely on SSI benefits are allowed,” said U.S. Sen. Katherine Cortez Masto, D-Nevada, who helped introduce the SSI Savings Penalty Elimination Act.

“We shouldn’t punish people who are working hard, saving their money and planning for the future,” Cortez Masto said in a news release. “Congress must raise the SSI asset limit to help our seniors and Americans with disabilities.”

The SSI code was last adjusted for inflation in 1989, which has left the asset limits at $2,000 and $3,000 for over four decades. The maximum monthly payment for an individual this year is $967.

The SSI bill would give the asset minimums a modern update – from $2,000 to $10,000 for individuals and from $3,000 to $20,000 for couples.

“Raising the SSI asset limits is a smart, long-overdue reform that updates a critical program to reflect today’s economic realities,” said U.S. Rep. Fitzpatrick, R-Pennsylvania, who proposed a companion bill to the House of Representatives.

The increased asset limit would be expected to make over 200,000 Americans newly eligible for the program.

The bill would also guarantee regular asset limit adjustments for inflation. That would be based on the Consumer Price Index change over year, with no option for the asset limit to decrease. That means the $10,000 and $20,000 limits would be expected to rise in coming years.

But the bill will not change monthly payments. The highest monthly assistance an individual could receive is $967.

The bill has received support from lawmakers, organizations and businesses from across the country.

“The big thing is that this is a common sense fix,” said a spokesperson for Cortez Masto.

“It has bipartisan support. You’ve also got support from so many organizations and groups,” the spokesperson told The Center Square.

The bill does not yet have a hearing date.

Rep. Crockett Says Quiet Part Out Loud in Racist Rant (WATCH)

Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett is no stranger to loud, racist outbursts. In March, she went viral, for comments claiming immigrants being needed for farm work because that’s what they’re ‘good for.’ Now she is doubling down on that stance.

The Texas Democrat took a page out of an 1840’s handbook during her speech at the Grace Baptist Church in Connecticut, in which she declared, “I had to go around the country and educate people about what immigrants do for this country—and the fact that we are a country of immigrants. Right? Right. The fact is ain’t none of y’all trying to go and farm right now…You’re not! You’re not! We done picking cotton! We are! You can’t pay us enough to find a plantation.”

WATCH:

So she is arguing that since black people won’t farm, we need illegal immigrants for the job? What an ignorant mindset. Clearly Rep. Crockett believes that being a farmer is a low-class job, a job certainly beneath her.

Farming is a hard work filled with long days, early mornings, and continuous challenges. It is not a job to be looked down on, and certainly does not make you less than the next person.

Farming literally puts food on the table to feed our country. She has OBVIOUSLY never heard the phrase, “Don’t bite the hand that feeds you.”

Sen. Marshall Urges Americans to Trust Trump: ‘Not His First Rodeo’ with Tariffs

On Monday, Senator Roger Marshall appeared on Newsmax and urged Americans to trust President Donald Trump’s approach on tariffs. He noted the strong economy we had under Trump’s presidency, and argued that the United States is in a favorable position considering the large consumer market, and pointed out how tariffs can bring jobs back to America.

“Everyone needs to remember that America is in the catbird’s seat,” Marshall said during his appearance on Newsmax’s Wake Up America, “that everybody needs us way more than we need them. We are the largest consumer market in the world. Last year, [former President] Joe Biden gave us $1.2 trillion in a trade deficit. So, we traded goods back and forth, and the rest of the countries, everyone else, ended up with $1.2 trillion more than we do. So, that needs to be addressed.”

He continued, “When I hear the word tariff, I think about the word jobs – American jobs. Jobs coming back home. Already we’ve seen $3 trillion committed to investing into America. That’s going to mean hundreds of thousands of jobs. But along with that, Congress needs to do our job. We need to roll back regulations, we need to cut taxes, and we need to make energy affordable. If we do those things, our economy is going to grow, grow, grow good American jobs, and that’s what’s going to give us long-term success in this country.”

Marshall called out Wall Street’s negative reaction to Trump’s “Liberation Day” tariff announcement last week. “They hate President Trump,” he said. “They went from obsession to absolute psychosis now. They’re way beyond obsession; they have a psychosis now, and they’re detached from reality. Remember, Trump 45 gave us the strongest economy in my professional lifetime: low inflation, low interest rates, low unemployment. [There was] a good jobs report recently, as well. So, this tariff [situation] is one small piece of a bigger economy.”

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there were more than 225,000 “quality jobs” added to the U.S. economy in March alone. A figure that Marshall described as nearly “twice as many jobs as people were predicting.”

“Most of Joe Biden’s jobs that he added were government jobs and part-time jobs,” the senator explained. “In this jobs report, a lot of these are construction jobs, they’re full-time jobs; they’re not government jobs. This is the tip of the iceberg. I think at the end of the day, that’s part of the American dream, right? To be able to have a job that you can support your family and maybe be able to afford to buy your first house and buy your first pickup truck and maybe even your first bass boat.

“So, I think that we’re going in the right direction,” he added. “It’s a great jobs report, it’s a good first number. I told one of my friends yesterday, look, this is complicated. But trust President Trump, he’s done this before; we had a great economy. I think that this is the start of a golden era.”

BREAKING! School Official Shares Chilling Photo Depicting POTUS Assassination

0

As America First News shared on X, a school official in New Hampshire shared a shocking photo that depicted President Donald Trump sitting in former President John F. Kennedy’s during during his assassination, and she captioned it, “I have a dream.”

That school official has been identified as none other than Hillsboro Deering High School Secretary Kelly D’Errico.

Although her original post has since been deleted from her personal Facebook page, a screenshot was taken and shared to a local town group by an appalled mother with children in the same district that D’Errico works.

As uproar ensued, the mother revealed that he has also emailed the New Hampshire Department of Education commissioner, superintendent, AND the principal of the School.

This is a developing story. We are in touch with the mother and will report on further on this story as she sends updated information.

Trump Warns Americans Not to be ‘Panicans’ Over Tariffs

President Donald Trump is warning Americans not to be “Panican” over global market and tariff concerns, advising not to be “weak” or “stupid” because this should have been done “decades ago.”

“The United States has a chance to do something that should have been done DECADES AGO. Don’t be Weak!” The president posted to Truth Social on Monday morning. “Don’t be Stupid! Don’t be a PANICAN (A new party based on Weak and Stupid people!).”

He added, “Be Strong, Courageous, and Patient, and GREATNESS will be the result!”

Trump followed with another update, explaining that his reciprocal tariff plan is working, and countries “from all over the World are talking to us.”

“Tough but fair parameters are being set. Spoke to the Japanese Prime Minister this morning. He is sending a top team to negotiate! They have treated the U.S. very poorly on Trade,” he declared “They don’t take our cars, but we take MILLIONS of theirs. Likewise Agriculture, and many other ‘things.’ It all has to change, but especially with CHINA!!!”

Trump has leveled the playing field, as White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt explained to reporters last week, “If you look at the unfair trade practices that we have — 50 percent from the European Union on American dairy, you have a 700-percent tariff from Japan on American rice, you have a 100-percent tariff from India on American agricultural products.”

She continued, “You have nearly a 300-percent tariff from Canada on American butter and American cheese. This makes it virtually impossible for American products to be imported into these markets, and it has put a lot of Americans out of business and out of work over the past several decades.”
