Wall St Icon Thanks Trump for Helping Him When He was a ‘Nobody’

0

Vincent Molinari, the Founder and CEO of FINTECH.TV, sat down with Eric Trump for an interview and took a moment to first thank President Donald Trump for helping him when he was just a start up business.

“I’d love to give your dad a shoutout,” he told Eric before turning his attention to the camera to address Trump.

“Mr. President, in 1998, at Burlington Capital – 59th floor of 40 Wall Street – nobody believed in me,” Molinari recalled. “I was an entrepreneurial kid from Queens New York [with] no balance sheet, and you backed me.”

The Wall Street icon continued, “You gave Joe De Sena – now Spartan Races Joe – the shot and that propelled me [and] my family, created an entrepreneurial company that we are able to exit, and really was the epitome of you believing in entrepreneurs [and] giving the little guy a chance.”

Molinari added, “I always wanted to say ‘thank you,’ so thank you. Thank you from my family, and so many other entrepreneurs who I know you quietly have helped over the years.”

Trump saw the interview, and appears to be touched, as he shared the clip on Truth Social and replied, “Thank you, Vince Molinari. Congratulations on all of your success.”

Trump Claps Back at China’s Pathetic Retaliation Tariff Play

China wants to play hard ball with the big boys, but they do not realize what they are getting themselves into. For far too long they have been allowed to bully the world trade market. However, with President Donald Trump back in the game, that is no longer going to fly.

On Wednesday, China announced that they were raising their 34% tariffs on U.S. goods to a whopping 84% tariff.

Trump’s response? Classy, just as you’d expect. He posted to X that he is “hereby raising the Tariff charged to China by the United States of America to 125%, effective immediately.”

Trump wrote, “Based on the lack of respect that China has shown to the World’s Markets, I am hereby raising the Tariff charged to China by the United States of America to 125%, effective immediately. At some point, hopefully in the near future, China will realize that the days of ripping off the U.S.A., and other Countries, is no longer sustainable or acceptable.”

He continued, “Conversely, and based on the fact that more than 75 Countries have called Representatives of the United States, including the Departments of Commerce, Treasury, and the USTR, to negotiate a solution to the subjects being discussed relative to Trade, Trade Barriers, Tariffs, Currency Manipulation, and Non Monetary Tariffs, and that these Countries have not, at my strong suggestion, retaliated in any way, shape, or form against the United States, I have authorized a 90 day PAUSE, and a substantially lowered Reciprocal Tariff during this period, of 10%, also effective immediately.”

Classic display of “play dumb games, win dumb prizes.”

Treasury Secretary Bessent Brushes Off Chinese Tariffs: ‘So What?’

On Wednesday morning, Trump’s Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent dismissed China’s announcement on plans to raise tariffs on the United States, noting that their exports to us are five times greater than what the U.S. exports to China.

Despite China’s vow to “fight to the end” in retaliation tariffs, Bessent said in an interview with Fox Business, “I think it’s unfortunate that the Chinese actually don’t want to come and negotiate, because they are the worst offenders in the international trading system.”

“Their exports to the U.S. are five times our exports to China,” he continued. “They can raise their tariffs, but so what?”

Newsmax reports:

Beijing also added an array of countermeasures after Trump raised the total tariff on imports from China to 104%. China said it was launching an additional suit against the U.S. at the World Trade Organization and placed further restrictions on American companies’ trade with Chinese companies.

Bessent also downplayed “swings in the bond market.”

Bessent stated, “I believe there is nothing systemic about this,” noting that it is “uncomfortable but normal deleveraging,” according to New York Times correspondent Tony Romm.

Schumer Touts ‘Taking Tariff Authority’ from Trump (WATCH)

On Tuesday, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer appeared on CNN’s “The Source” and made the laughable claim that he is considering “taking” tariff authority from President Donald Trump. When asked whether Democrats should have reclaimed congressional tariffs when they were the majority under the Biden administration, Schumer replied, “Congress has always had the power to deal with tariffs, and we’ve always had these fights in the past on some of the tariff issues as well. But now that Trump is going so overboard, Congress can, has every legal authority to take those powers back, and that’s what we aim to do.”

CNN host Brianna Keilar inquired, “On the tariff issue, you’ve been in the Senate for more than a quarter-century, and, in that time, Congress has been really willing to delegate tariff power to the president. Should Democrats have reclaimed that power when they had last — the majority? You saw what Trump did in his first term with tariffs.

Schumer replied, “Well, yeah, but we were able to beat back a lot of what Trump did on tariffs. And nothing is as extensive as this is, over 180 countries affected. Hey, this has been so carelessly done that they’re even taxing — they’re putting tariffs on penguins. There are two islands near Australia –.”

Keilar butts in, “I hear what you’re saying, the tariffs are extraordinary now compared to what they were in his first term. But what he did in his first term was also pretty extraordinary. Should Democrats have protected against this?”

Schumer answered, “Congress has always had the power to deal with tariffs, and we’ve always had these fights in the past on some of the tariff issues as well. But now that Trump is going so overboard, Congress can, has every legal authority to take those powers back, and that’s what we aim to do. And we hope our colleagues in the Republican Party, knowing how bad this is, instead of just trembling in their boots because they’re afraid of Trump, join with us and side with the American people.”

Trump Admin Announces New Second Amendment Task Force

On Tuesday, Attorney General Pam Bondi announced the creation of a Second Amendment Task Force to protect our Second Amendment rights. The force’s goal is to ensure the Second Amendment is not treated like a second-class right.

The memo, which was published in part by NBC News, states, “For too long, the Second Amendment, which establishes the fundamental individual right of Americans to keep and bear arms, has been treated as a second-class right. No more.”

Rep. Riley M. Moore backed Bondi’s announcement on X. He wrote, “The Second Amendment is the premier constitutional right — it guards all others.”

This falls in line with FBI director and temporary acting ATF director Kash Patel ending the ATF’s zero tolerance policy – which was a Biden era policy – to close down licensed firearms dealers over simple paperwork errors.

Patel also noted that Biden’s ATF rules, like the ones being “engaged in the business” and AR-pistol stabilizer braces– are being scrutinized as well.

Report: China Strikes Back with 84% Tariffs on U.S.

0

On Wednesday, China finance ministry announced a 84% tariff on U.S. goods, which is a serious hike from the 34% they originally announced.

This is in response to President Donald Trump implementing reciprocal tariffs on foreign countries as a way to level the playing field for global trade. China’s President Xi Jinping refused to withdraw retaliatory tariffs, indicating that he wants to play hard ball.

The Communist dictatorship’s own Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council declared that President Trump is making a “mistake” and China’s Global Times has urged him to back down:

The US escalation of tariffs against China is a mistake on top of a mistake; it seriously infringes upon China’s legitimate rights and interests and gravely undermines the rules‑based multilateral trading system, said the commission.

China urges the US to immediately correct its wrong practices, cancel all unilateral tariff measures against China, and properly resolve differences with China through equal dialogue on the basis of mutual respect.

However, Trump does not take well to threats. He posted to Truth Social on Wednesday afternoon,

“Based on the lack of respect that China has shown to the World’s Markets, I am hereby raising the Tariff charged to China by the United States of America to 125%, effective immediately. At some point, hopefully in the near future, China will realize that the days of ripping off the U.S.A., and other Countries, is no longer sustainable or acceptable. Conversely, and based on the fact that more than 75 Countries have called Representatives of the United States, including the Departments of Commerce, Treasury, and the USTR, to negotiate a solution to the subjects being discussed relative to Trade, Trade Barriers, Tariffs, Currency Manipulation, and Non Monetary Tariffs, and that these Countries have not, at my strong suggestion, retaliated in any way, shape, or form against the United States, I have authorized a 90 day PAUSE, and a substantially lowered Reciprocal Tariff during this period, of 10%, also effective immediately. Thank you for your attention to this matter.”

I believe it would be in CHINA’s best interest to back down. Not the United States.

Audit Finds More Than $1.3M in Missing Funds at Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office

0

An audit of the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office revealed over $1.3 million in misappropriated funds during fiscal year 2024. The losses stem from three incidents: a major wire fraud case, payroll fraud, and a cash skimming scheme. JPSO management is implementing new procedures to prevent future abuses.

The Center Square reports:

An audit of the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office revealed more than $1.3 million in misappropriated public funds during fiscal year 2024, according to findings submitted by the Louisiana Legislative Auditor’s Office.

The losses stem from three separate incidents, including a major wire fraud case, payroll fraud, and a cash skimming scheme inside the parish correctional facility.

The largest incident involved more than $1.1 million in fraudulent wire transfers after malicious actors compromised the email server of a government agency JPSO regularly assists.

The attackers used an employee’s email address to submit a fake change request for bank account information. JPSO personnel accepted the request without verification and updated payment details in the agency’s online banking platform, resulting in multiple unauthorized transfers to an unrelated account.

So far, about $293,000 of the $1.1 million has been recovered. The matter has been referred to the U.S. Secret Service for further investigation.

Auditors attributed the fraud to JPSO’s failure to follow proper procedures for verifying bank account changes, in violation of Article 7, Section 14 of the Louisiana Constitution. The audit recommends that JPSO implement a policy requiring secondary confirmation of any such requests.

In a separate case, an employee at the correctional center was found to have submitted false overtime hours through the parish’s timekeeping system, resulting in $83,972 in improper payments.

The employee has since been terminated, arrested, and charged with theft under Louisiana law. Auditors faulted weak oversight in the overtime approval process and urged the agency to strengthen controls.

A third incident involved another corrections employee who skimmed $130,830 in cash receipts paid by individuals seeking to bail out inmates. That employee was also terminated, arrested, and charged under the same law.

In each case, JPSO management said it is implementing new procedures to prevent future abuses and ensure compliance with state law. The audit findings highlight ongoing concerns about financial controls within the sheriff’s office, particularly in high-cash or high-volume transaction areas.

U.S. Attorneys File Over 500 Border Crime Cases in Texas

0

In one week, U.S. attorneys in Texas filed over 500 border crime cases, primarily against individuals with prior convictions for narcotics, violent, sexual, or immigration offenses. The cases include charges for illegal reentry, human smuggling, firearms possession, and assaulting federal officers. Many of the defendants are repeat offenders with multiple deportations and criminal histories.

The Center Square reports:

As illegal border crossings drop to new lows under the Trump administration, prosecutors are filing a record number of cases against illegal foreign nationals in the interior of the U.S., with the bulk being filed in Texas.

In one week, U.S. attorneys in Texas filed more than 500 border crime cases, the most of any region or state.

In the Southern District of Texas, U.S. Attorney Nicholas Ganjei’s office filed 225 cases in one week. The majority charged have felony convictions for narcotics, violent and/or sexual crimes or prior immigration offenses, according to his office. More than half, 144, face charges for illegal reentry; nine involve human smuggling; others include firearms and assaulting federal officer charges.

Among them are two men charged with “alien smuggling” resulting in two deaths, including the drowning of a 14-year-old. If convicted, they face up to life in prison or the death penalty. In one of his first executive orders, Trump directed the U.S. attorney general to instruct federal prosecutors to seek the death penalty for border crimes that resulted in death, The Center Square reported.

Others include two Salvadoran men identified as potential MS-13 gang members, one of whom is a convicted felon. Another Salvadorian national charged is a convicted sex offender previously sentenced to 60 months for second degree sexual assault, according to Ganjei’s office.

Another illegal foreign national is facing charges for allegedly assaulting two Border Patrol agents; he has four prior convictions for illegal reentry after removal, according to Ganjei’s office.

In another case, a Mexican national is facing charges of trafficking firearms after he was caught attempting to transport a 9 mm handgun and nearly 2,000 rounds of ammunition to Mexico through Brownsville. In another case, a repeat offender illegally living in Harlingen was sentence to 33 months in federal prison for illegal reentry with a criminal history of DWIs, assault family violence, criminal mischief, possession of a controlled substance, previous removals and illegal reentries.

In Corpus Christi, a Mexican national with 7 DWIs and conviction of battery was sentenced to 24 months in prison after having been removed from the country three times between 2012 and 2023. After illegally reentering again, he was arrested in August 2024, along with 10 others who were allegedly being smuggled in a commercial cargo trailer.

In another case, an illegal foreign national was convicted of human smuggling leading to death and now faces life in prison. In another case, a Mexican citizen illegally living in San Benito was indicted for allegedly committing identity theft and impersonating a U.S. citizen to apply for a U.S. passport. If convicted, she faces up to 15 years in prison.

Rep. Harris Refuses to Support GOP Budget Deal: ‘Trump Can’t Convince Me’

Republican Congressman Andy Harris, chair of the Conservative House Freedom Caucus, has made it clear that  he will NOT be supporting the pending GOP budget deal, and even refuses to speak with President Donald Trump on the issue.

Despite other GOP representatives meeting with Trump to discuss the matter, Harris announced that he turned down the invitation, stating that the president should “spend time with people whose minds he might change.”

“There’s nothing that I can hear at the White House that I don’t understand about the situation,” Harris reportedly declared.

Speaker Mike Johnson told reporters that a statement like that “sounds uncharacteristic of Andy Harris,” adding that he personally hasn’t heard that rhetoric from the chairman.

Newsmax reports:

Harris said there are more than a dozen GOP holdouts — enough to stall the legislation in a chamber where the 220-213 Republican majority can afford to lose only three votes to pass a bill, assuming all members are present.

Many holdouts are concerned about modest spending cuts in the plan approved by the Senate on Saturday, with the House leadership’s pressure to back it.

The budget plan was tentatively scheduled to go to the House Rules Committee after the White House meeting, which was not on the president’s daily schedule, according to Politico. The meeting could be postponed if House leaders don’t make headway with the holdouts.

“At this point, there are definitely more than a dozen,” Harris claimed, as reported by Politico. “Maybe the president can whittle that down, but he’s not going to whittle it down to four or three.”
