Dem Strategist Carville Predicts Doom for Trump—We’ve Heard That One Before

On Tuesday, Democratic strategist James Carville appeared on MSNBC’s “The Beat” and predicted that President Donald Trump’s poll numbers are going to tank in the coming days.”

Carville commented on political analyst Karl Rove’s appearance on Fox News, during which he stated, “When it comes to the economy, this is where it’s a little trickier, and this is where his numbers have gone south.”

Carville said, “So I watch Karl, and he’s exactly right. When you’ve seen a lot of polls like Karl has in his career or I’ve seen or it’s worse than you think when you look at, you know, sometimes you look at a poll and you see some numbers and you go and say, well, this is a little more. It’s across-the-board horrific for him. I think that’s what Karl was trying to say.”

He continued, “Around Labor Day, I think these numbers are going to be even worse because the underlying support for him is even worse than the top-line support for him.”

The anti-Trumper added, “I think people just don’t see — they don’t see a strategy behind it. They don’t see any thought behind it. They just see an impulsive guy going from one unpopular thing to another. We just got to come back in and really, really clock him hard on his legislative stuff. These Republicans know that’s coming. If we just stay unified, stay unified and keep hitting them on that, we’re going to drag that. This 39 is going to turn into 34.”

From Mafia Roles to Gender Rolls: De Niro’s Son Joins the Identity Circus

0

Robert De Niro’s 29-year-old son, Aaron — now going by Airyn — has officially joined the Hollywood trend of coming out as transgender, after starting hormone treatments in 2024.

Born via surrogate with De Niro’s ex-girlfriend, Toukie Smith, Airyn told Them magazine (yes, that’s a real publication name) that transitioning into womanhood was influenced in part by Black women. “Stepping into this new identity, while also being more proud of my Blackness, makes me feel closer to them,” Airyn said — because apparently gender is now a matter of cultural vibes

So…Black women are to blame for his identity crisis? Interesting.

De Niro and Smith, unsurprisingly, have been “supportive” of the transition. Airyn says they kept the kids out of the spotlight growing up — a rare Hollywood parenting win — but now seems eager to be in it, declaring that “being visible and being seen” are two different things. Deep.

Airyn added that the usual beauty standards and identity labels were hard to fit into growing up — not skinny enough, not Black enough, not white enough, not masculine enough, etc. (Welcome to the club, kid — that’s called being human.)

Now, with a fresh name and hormone treatments underway, Airyn hopes to be a beacon for others “struggling with identity.” Because what the world really needs right now is more identity confusion and less reality.

De Niro, a father of seven, including Airyn’s twin brother Julian, hasn’t publicly commented beyond general support. But given Hollywood’s track record, this announcement was probably more expected than shocking.

Amazon Shoots Down Rumors of Tariff Price Tags on Products

0

Amazon denied reports that it was planning to display the cost of Trump-era tariffs alongside product prices. The White House slammed the idea as politically motivated, and Amazon’s stock took a hit following the controversy.

The original report first appeared in Punchbowl News on Tuesday, and stated that Amazon Inc. would start displaying the listed price of a product as well as the price after tariffs are imposed.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt also slammed the alleged plan as a “hostile and political act.” She asked, “Why didn’t Amazon do this when the Biden administration hiked inflation to the highest level in 40 years?”

Leavitt added, “This is another reason why Americans should buy American.”

Following the remarks, Amazon shares fell over 2% in premarket trading, per CNBC — a rare stumble for Jeff Bezos’ behemoth.

However, Amazon has since issued a response to the report, denying that they ever planned to display additional “tariff pricing” on products.

Just a thought—how about tagging products with “Made in America” so we can proudly buy red, white, and blue instead of red and gold? Then we support USA made AND avoid tariffs – two birds, one stone.

Same Script, New Election: Murphy Accuses Trump of ‘Destroying Democracy’ Like It’s 2016

On Tuesday, Senator Chris Murphy appeared on CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360” and accused President Donald Trump of “trying to destroy our democracy.”

The Democrat senator shrieked, “We really don’t have the ability to think about the electoral consequences of what’s happening to the country right now. The fact of the matter is, Donald Trump is trying to destroy our democracy so that he can turn the entire government over to his billionaire friends. He’s trying to create a kind of kleptocratic oligarchy where he and his Mar-a-Lago buddies steal from the rest of us. We have to tell that story. I mean, I understand that it’s kind of a popular theme that Kamala Harris shouldn’t have run on protecting democracy. But, you know, if you run on telling the American public that this guy, Donald Trump, is going to destroy the rule of law if he wins, and then you don’t act like it, you don’t tell the truth when he actually tries to convert American democracy to American autocracy, then you lose all of your credibility.”

Murphy added, “So I don’t sit here every day thinking about the political or electoral ramifications of telling the truth. We should just tell the truth, and the truth is the president is trying to destroy our country. The most massive transfer of wealth from the middle class to the rich in the history of the country and the destruction of the rule of law. That’s why his approval ratings are plummeting by the day right now.”

State Supreme Court Suspends Judge Accused of Helping Illegal Immigrant Evade ICE

The Wisconsin Supreme Court has suspended Milwaukee County Judge Hannah Dugan, who faces federal charges for allegedly helping an undocumented immigrant evade ICE. Dugan is accused of obstruction and concealing a person from law enforcement, charges that carry the possibility of hefty fines and prison time.

The center Square reports:

The Wisconsin Supreme Court suspended a Milwaukee judge facing two federal charges for allegedly trying to help a man illegally in the country escape from immigration officials.

The order, released late Tuesday, said Milwaukee County Judge Hannah Dugan faces two federal charges – one a felony and one a misdemeanor – and it is in the public interest to relieve her of her duties temporarily.

“The court is charged in the Wisconsin Constitution with exercising superintending and administrative authority of the courts of this state. In the exercise of that constitutional authority and in order to uphold the public’s confidence in the courts of this state during the pendency of the criminal proceeding against Judge Dugan, we conclude, on our own motion, that it is in the public interest that she be temporarily relieved of her official duties,” the order reads.

Dugan is charged with obstruction of a federal proceeding and concealing an individual to prevent discovery or arrest. The obstruction charge could result in up to a $100,000 fine and a year in prison, while the second concealment charge can result in up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

The defendant is accused of concealing Eduardo Flores Ruiz, who was previously deported and came back to the U.S., where he was facing charges in Milwaukee of domestic battery and abuse.

Federal Bureau of Investigation Special Agent Lindsay Schloemer wrote in the complaint against Dugan that law enforcement often makes arrests at the courthouse because “not only the fact that law enforcement knows the location at which the wanted individual should be located but also the fact that the wanted individual would have entered through a security checkpoint and thus unarmed, minimizing the risk of injury to law enforcement, the public, and the wanted individual.”

Dugan is scheduled for a pretrial hearing on the federal criminal charges on May 15/

CA Lawmaker Sounds Alarm on Bill Raising Welfare Fraud Felony Threshold to $25K

0

California lawmakers are weighing a controversial bill that would raise the felony threshold for welfare fraud from $950 to $25,000. Critics warn the move would effectively decriminalize large-scale fraud, potentially draining resources from programs meant to support the state’s most vulnerable. Supporters argue that prosecuting recipients for overpayments—often due to bureaucratic errors—is unjust and can have devastating consequences for low-income families. The bill is scheduled for a hearing before the Senate Appropriations Committee.

The Center Square reports:

California legislators are seeking to raise the felony threshold for welfare fraud from $950 to $25,000, which one lawmaker says would effectively “legalize welfare fraud.”

Senate Bill 560, sponsored by state Sen. Lola Smallwood-Cuevas, D-Los Angeles, would raise the existing $950 threshold to $25,000 for felony charges for welfare obtained and retained fraudulently. The bill would also prohibit a person from being additionally charged with perjury based solely on a statement made to a county welfare department, if they are subject to prosecution for overpayment or overissuance pursuant to these provisions.”

Each case would also have to be “reviewed by a “qualified caseworker” before “administrative penalties” are applied.

Assemblyman Carl DeMaio, R-San Diego, says the proposed bill would not only “legalize welfare fraud,” but would also undermine the key programs relied upon by vulnerable Californians.

“Democrat politicians are advancing legislation to legalize welfare fraud in California,” said DeMaio in a statement. “SB 560 by Senator Smallwood-Cuevas illustrates exactly what’s wrong with California: Democrats yet again jeopardize the solvency of programs designed to support the most vulnerable in California in order to protect and reward those who break our laws and game the system.”

In support of the bill, the Western Center on Law and Poverty says that prosecution for overpayments is unfair to families and could come with immigration consequences.

“When overpayments are referred to the criminal system, families can be torn apart for something as simple as a paperwork error,” wrote WCLP. “The head of household, most often a woman of color, can face serious immigration consequences, loss of employment, loss of housing, and even loss of child custody.”

However, the California District Attorneys Association suggests that SB 560 would, by eliminating state criminal penalties for fraud under $25,000, shift that authority to the federal government, including federal immigration officials, thereby undermining the bill’s intended purpose.

“Because welfare fraud includes fraud in federally funded programs such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), eliminating California’s authority to investigate and prosecute attempted welfare fraud and welfare fraud under $25,000, this bill threatens to shift investigative responsibility to federal agencies including the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement,” wrote CDDA in its opposition to the bill, which included similar concerns to DeMaio’s.

SB 650 has passed its two committees and is set for a hearing from the Senate Appropriations Committee on May 5.

Former CNN Reporter Defends Media: ‘Wasn’t Covering Up Biden Mental Decline’

Former CNN talking head Chris Cillizza says the media wasn’t covering up Biden’s mental decline—they were just a little too trusting of the White House.

“I think it was an inherent and sort of unconscious bias more than a conscious bias,” he declared. Translation: We didn’t ask questions because we liked the answers we were handed.

WATCH:

Let’s call it what it is: the media happily played PR team for Biden until it became painfully obvious he couldn’t string a sentence together—much less beat Trump.

Now that the ship’s sinking, they’re all scrambling to look like “serious journalists” again.

Too late, y’all. We see you.

WATCH: Napolitano Accuses Trump of ‘Jihad Against Judges’

0

On Monday, Newsmax TV judicial analyst Andrew Napolitano accused the Trump administration of overreach in the arrest of Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Hannah Dugan.

Napolitano ranted, “An administrative warrant is not an arrest warrant. No judge would recognize an administrative warrant. So she’s on the bench. There’s a commotion in the hallway involving the person who is in front of her, the defendant who’s in front of her for some sort of a low level assault and battery. She goes out to see what the commotion is, and they say, we’re here to arrest this guy. She basically says, well, you’re not going to interrupt with my proceeding. We don’t permit arrests in the courtroom. You can wait in the hallway or you can wait for him outside. let me see your arrest warrant. We don’t have one. They have this administrative warrant, which is one ICE agent authorizing another ICE agent to detain someone. So I don’t think there’s a crime here. I think she has she has immunity. She can decide how a person leaves her courtroom.”

He continued, “I think they overreached by arresting her.”

Napolitano added, “Because they’re on a bit of a jihad against judges, they decided to make an example out of this. I think this is the wrong case out of which to make an example. I think she has immunity. She can decide where a person leaves her courtroom from and what she says to that person, and she can’t be prosecuted for it.”

CA Democrat Rep Sides With Predators—Blocks Felony Charges for Buying Teens for Sex

Only in California can lawmakers twist themselves into moral pretzels trying not to protect children.

This week, the Democrat-controlled Assembly Public Safety Committee blocked a provision in a bill that would have made it a felony to buy 16- and 17-year-olds for sex. You read that right: They refused to make it a felony to buy children for sex.

The bill, AB 379, was introduced to crack down on predators fueling the child sex trafficking industry. But instead of backing the bill with teeth, Democrats like Assemblyman Nick Shultz decided to neuter it—because they’re too busy protecting “carefully crafted deals” instead of protecting kids.

“We’re not saying no,” Shultz said, pretending there’s nuance in letting sex buyers off easy. “We just need to be thoughtful.” Thoughtful? Try shameful.

Let’s rewind. Last year, Republican Senator Shannon Grove pushed a bill that would’ve made it a felony to buy any minor for sex. But Democrats balked and struck a “deal” allowing the felony charge only if the victim was under 16. For 16- and 17-year-olds? It’s up to prosecutors. Because nothing says justice like asking exploited teens to prove they were trafficked.

Now, that same “deal” is being used to block this year’s updated bill—written by Democrat Assemblymember Maggy Krell, a former anti-trafficking prosecutor who’s had enough of the double talk. “It’s a disgrace,” Krell said. And she’s right.

Krell’s bill was yanked from the hearing schedule unless she agreed to gut it. So, she did—just to salvage what she could.

The Frankenstein version of the bill still rolls back parts of a 2022 law that decriminalized loitering for prostitution. It brings back penalties (misdemeanors, at best) for those creepy “Johns” lurking in cars. The fine? A whopping $1,000 and a slap on the wrist.

Senator Grove summed it up best: “It’s completely evil.”

Democrats love to lecture about “protecting the vulnerable”—unless it means offending their base or disrupting a backroom handshake from last session. Because apparently, in California, being 16 still means you’re fair game if your abuser hires a good lawyer.

Here’s the truth: No child should be up for negotiation. And any lawmaker who isn’t willing to make child sex trafficking a felony—at any age—has no business holding office.
