Report: Hegseth Expected to be Confirmed After Impressive Hearing Performance

0

Pete Hegseth, a former Fox News host and Army combat veteran, is on the brink of being confirmed as the next Secretary of Defense. During his confirmation hearing, he managed to impress Senate Republicans who are eager to expedite his nomination process. According to CNN, Senator Roger Wicker expressed confidence in Hegseth’s support among Republicans, stating that he expects unanimous backing from his party.

Despite facing a series of controversies leading up to the hearing—such as allegations of excessive drinking and sexual assault, which Hegseth has denied—he appeared before the Senate Armed Services Committee with determination. His past comments about women not serving in combat roles were also addressed; he has since retracted those statements.

The hearing lasted over four hours, during which time Republican senators grew increasingly optimistic about Hegseth’s potential leadership at the Pentagon. With 53 seats under their control in the Senate, Republicans need just 50 votes for his confirmation. John Thune, the Senate Majority Leader from South Dakota, praised Hegseth’s performance by saying he “comported himself extremely well” and made a compelling case for his appointment as Secretary of Defense. Thune assured that efforts would be made swiftly to confirm him.

What an upgrade Hegseth will be compared to the rainbow clown show we have had in that position for the last four years.

Make masculinity great again!

NO WAY! This Country Music LEGEND To Perform At Trump Inauguration

As we race towards Inauguration Day, the details are starting to trickle out. For example, we just learned that an absolute LEGEND in the country music world will be performing for President Donald Trump’s swearing in!

If you’re anything like me, you first thoughts may be someone like Jason Aldean or Kid Rock, or maybe even Lee Greenwood. However, it’s none of them. In fact, it’s not even a man! The artist posed to bring the country together with a mix of tradition, pageantry, and star power is none other than

As told by Trending Politics:

From performances by the United States Marine Band to benedictions by faith leaders like Reverend Franklin Graham, the day is packed with high-profile moments. Highlights include the United States Naval Academy Glee Club and Armed Forces Chorus lending their voices to classics like “America the Beautiful” and “The Battle Hymn of the Republic.”

One of the biggest surprises, however, is the addition of country music legend Carrie Underwood to the lineup. The Grammy-winning artist, expected to bring her signature powerhouse vocals, will serve as the day’s centerpiece of entertainment, capturing the spirit of the event. Underwood is a country music superstar who first gained national recognition after winning the fourth season of American Idol in 2005. Her debut album, Some Hearts, became the best-selling debut in country music history, featuring chart-topping hits like “Jesus, Take the Wheel” and “Before He Cheats.” Over the years, Underwood has solidified her place as one of the most successful artists in the genre, earning eight Grammy Awards, 16 Academy of Country Music Awards, 23 CMT Music Awards, and seven Country Music Association Awards.

This will certainly be an Inauguration Day for the books! Press record on that DVR (is that even still a thing) and buckle up!

Just In: Hegseth’s Background Check Has Unexpected Results

0

Veteran and former Fox News host Pete Hegseth was nominated by President Donald Trump to be Secretary of Defense. However, Democrats brought allegations against him and questioned his qualification for the job – citing financial and personal misconduct.

The results of his background check are in, as of Monday morning, and what it shows is quite a blow…..to the left!! Officials remarked that its findings are “unremarkable.”

WHEW! What a bummer for the left, and what a win for America!

Trending Politics reports:

For weeks, Democrats have pointed to Hegseth’s limited experience in high-level government roles as a key concern, alongside allegations that he mismanaged funds during his tenure at a veteran-focused nonprofit. Additionally, accusations of inappropriate workplace behavior have loomed large, though Hegseth has consistently denied the claims, dismissing them as politically motivated attacks. Despite these controversies, the newly released background check may complicate efforts to derail his nomination. While the investigation’s findings are unlikely to assuage critics’ broader concerns, some Republican lawmakers hailed the report as proof of Hegseth’s suitability for the role.

Some senators, including Republicans, have expressed their reservations about his suitability for the role, considering the allegations and his stated positions on critical military policies. Hegseth’s nomination for Secretary of Defense has been fraught with controversies stemming from past allegations of sexual assault, opposition to DEI initiatives and women in combat roles, and financial mismanagement. These issues are likely to be central topics during his confirmation process. Sens. Roger Wicker (R-MS) and Jack Reed (D-RI), who serve as the chair and ranking member of the committee, are the only ones who have reviewed Hegseth’s FBI file, which arrived late last week. Republicans on the Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC) who have been briefed described the report as “unremarkable.”

I still wouldn’t put it past Democrats to fight his nomination, despite the results.

Could Elon Musk Save TikTok with This Simple Move??

0

Elon Musk saved Twitter, in a sense. Taking it from being a land of censorship to a platform we might actually want to be on. Is it possible he could save TikTok for us, too?

According to reports, Chinese officials are in talks about selling the video platform to Musk, which would essentially prevent the impending ban, which he has spoken out against.

“I’m generally against banning things… it would help Twitter if TikTok was banned because then people would spend more time on Twitter and less time on TikTok,” Musk said in a previous interview. “But even if it would help Twitter, I would still be against banning things.”

The Royal Family Has a Surprising Connection to Attack in New Orleans

0

Kicking off the New Year, we saw a horrific attack on New Orleans – which seems to continue to unfold in the most unexpected ways. As it turns out, investigators have found a shocking connection between a victim of the ISIS-inspired terrorist attack and the Royal Family.

According to reports, one of the victims killed by terrorist Shamsud-Din Jabbar was actually a close family friend of Prince William and the Royal Family.

Heartbroken members of the Royal Family were devastated when they learned that Shamsud-Din Jabbar had driven a rented Ford pickup truck into a Bourbon Street crowd around 3:15 a.m. on January 1st, killing 15 before he exited the vehicle and was killed by police officers during a gun battle. Names of the victims have trickled out, with one being identified by Prince William as a close friend of the family. In a statement on Wednesday, the husband of Kate Middleton paid tribute to a British man killed in the attacks who was the son of their longtime nanny. Edward Pettifer, 31, was crawling the late-night New Orleans grounds when he was struck and killed by Din Jabbar. Born in London, Pettifer’s stepmother was the Royal Family’s former nanny who raised Prince William and Prince Harry when they were little.

“Catherine and I have been shocked and saddened by the tragic death of Ed Pettifer,” read an Instagram statement by William and Kate. “Our thoughts and prayers remain with the Pettifer family and all those innocent people who have been tragically impacted by this horrific attack.”

Days after the attack, the U.K.’s Metropolitan Counter Terrorism Command released a statement acknowledging that officers were supporting the Pettifer family, but their connection with the Royal Family was not made widely known until Prince William’s statement. Addressing the loss of Edward, the Pettifer family stated, “The entire family are devastated at the tragic news of Ed‘s death in New Orleans. He was a wonderful son, brother, grandson, nephew and a friend to so many. We will all miss him terribly. Our thoughts are with the other families who have lost their family members due to this terrible attack. We request that we can grieve the loss of Ed as a family in private. Thank you.” Fox News reported that the news has upset King Charles, who continues to seek treatment for cancer and has been in touch with the family to pass along his personal condolences. William’s nanny, known affectionately as “Tiggy,” married Pettifer’s father, Charles, a former British army officer, in 1999, shortly after she had stepped down as the boys’ nanny. The Pettifer family remained close with the Royal Family and rejoined them for the wedding of William and Kate in 2011.

Authorities are still investigating the motives behind Jabbar’s attack – claiming that he was  “trying to run over as many people as he possibly could” with “very intentional behavior.”

ABC’s David Muir ‘Horrifies’ Colleagues by His Latest Stunt: ‘Egomaniac’

0

Leave it to David Muir to act out in typical liberal fashion to overshadow the raging fires in Los Angeles. He took a controversial trip into the field, which has set off his “horrified” coworkers at ABC News. They have even gone as far to call him an “egomaniac.”

So why are they so worked up? According to reports, Muir is “less focused on empathizing with the victims of tragedies he covers and more interested in ensuring he always has the proper lighting rig, makeup team, and outfit coordination to fit the moment.” So when he decided to “don a yellow fireman’s jacket and head into the ashes of Palisades,” they knew it was only a publicity stunt.

Turning partially away from the camera, Muir gestured to some of the devastation behind him during a live shot, revealing a wooden clothespin holding his oversized jacket in place to ensure he kept cutting a trim figure for his viewers. The stunt wasn’t surprising to those who work with Muir and spoke out anonymously, caricaturing the 51-year-old as a cross between Ben Stiller’s Zoolander and Will Ferrell’s Ron Burgundy, the eccentric 70s lead character from the comedy series “Anchorman.”

Wearing a clothespin to maintain his svelte hero’s look was a “narcissistic” but par-for-the-course move by Muir. One ABC insider, furious to see Muir’s Instagram feed filled with tight black t-shirts while he’s out on assignment, snarked, “It’s pathetic. All flexed muscles and posing. He’s actually Zoolander meets Anchorman. He forgets he is the face of ABC News, not Abercrombie & Fitch!” Another claimed that it was unprecedented to alter an ABC News jacket to appear like a firefighter’s uniform, saying they had “never” seen a correspondent try so hard to “match the first responders.” One of the same sources slammed Muir for “trying to look ‘hot’ during a fire” which has so far killed at least 10 and destroyed over 34,000 homes, buildings, and other structures across Palisades, Eaton, and other parts of greater LA. News coverage “shouldn’t be about vanity, it should be about people losing their homes,” the source said to the Daily Mail.

“Here’s an anchor standing in the middle of horrific wildfires where people have lost everything,” an ABC spokesperson told Page Six. “David is solely focused on the people who are suffering and the heroic efforts of the firefighters — and that’s what everyone should be focused on.”

Dead Bodies Found on JetBlue Plane Launches Investigation

0

In a shocking discovery, two dead bodies were found on a JetBlue plane in Florida by maintenance crews who were performing a routine inspection. The plane landed in Florida on Monday evening, officials announced.

Paramedics declared the individuals dead on scene after their bodies were removed. Their identities have not yet been revealed, however, it has been reported that they were discovered between the plane’s landing gear and wheel.

Trending Politics reports:

JetBlue Flight 1801 had travelled from John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City before landing at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport on Monday evening. The bodies were found during a routine maintenance inspection of the aircraft after it touched down in Fort Lauderdale, A JetBlue spokesperson said in a statement to Fox News. “This is a heartbreaking situation, and we are committed to working closely with authorities to support their efforts to understand how this occurred,” the spokesperson added.

The JetBlue flight departed New York — where temperatures had plunged well below freezing — shortly before 8 p.m. on Monday. The plane then landed in Fort Lauderdale about five minutes late at 11:10 p.m., according to flight tracker data.  While the plane’s must recent flight had come from New York, JetBlue Flight 1801 had been in both Kingston, Jamaica, and Salt Lake City, Utah, earlier on Monday, according to the flight tracking service FlightAware.com. Authorities have not provided any information as to where the deceased individuals could have come from.

Broward County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Carey Codd said that both bodies are believed to be male. “Beyond that, their identities at this point are unknown, and that is some of the information that Broward sheriff’s office detectives are trying to sort out at this point,” he revealed.

“Detectives will investigate and research all aspects of this particular incident, trying to figure out where the flight originated from, where else it had been, the circumstances under which the individuals got onto the plane,” Codd added.

Dershowitz Goes Scorched Earth on Judge Merchan Over ‘Scam’ Trump Conclusion

0

To say that veteran trial attorney and legal analyst Alan Dershowitz was unhappy with the decision by Manhattan Judge Juan Merchan’s to sentence President-elect Donald Trump with less than two weeks before Inauguration Day is an understatement.

Dershowitz has been a staunch critic of Merchan and his cronies like Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg – and declared that just the fact that Merchan made it clear that Trump will not serve any prison or probation time SHOWS the entire country that the sentencing process was nothing more than a “scam.”

Trending Politics reports:

Trump appeared virtually for sentencing at 9:30 a.m. on Friday after exhausting available legal options. After initially postponing the sentencing indefinitely, Merchan announced last Friday that Trump will be sentenced on January 10, leaving him little time to advance legal challenges. The judge added that Trump would avoid jail time, fines and probation in a decision that was made before Trump even appeared in court. The U.S. Supreme Court ruled last year that president’s are entitled to immunity from prosecution for official acts conducted while in office leaving him out of reach of the Democrat judge’s courtroom once he is sworn on.

The president-elect did attempt to obtain a delay, though he was denied by a Democrat-controlled New York court on Thursday morning. The New York Court of Appeals issued a brief order on Thursday denying Trump’s legal team a hearing, effectively allowing the sentencing to proceed as scheduled. Trump then filed a last minute appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court, though the petition was denied by a 5-4 vote, with Chief Justice John Roberts and Amy Coney Barrett, a Trump appointee, joining the court’s three liberal justices in voting against.

“It is the office of the President that bestows those far-reaching protections to the officeholder. And it was the citizenry of this nation that recently decided that you should once again receive the benefits of those protections, which include, among other things, the supremacy clause and presidential immunity,” Merchan declared during the hearing on Friday. “Which include, among other things, the Supremacy Clause and presidential immunity. It is through that lens, and that reality, that this course must determine a lawful sentence.”

A few hours later, Dershowitz appeared on Fox News’ “Hannity” and let him have it!  “What we saw today was a scam, a ploy,” he said. “It started with Judge Merchan telling in advance what a sentence was going to be. I’ve been doing this for years. I’ve never been told by a judge what the sentence is going to be. When I go into the courtroom with my client, I tell him to bring his toothbrush because he doesn’t know whether he’s going home or going to Rikers or some other lockup. The only reason Merchan said in advance what he was going to do is to try to persuade the two justices of the Supreme Court not to take the case now and they use that fact.”

Mel Gibson Shares Heartbreaking News: ‘It’s All In Cinders’

0

As the horrific wildfires sweep across Los Angeles County, many people have lost their homes and businesses. Around them is well known actor and filmmaker Mel Gibson, who lost his home of nearly 15 years.

Gibson spoke to NewsNation about his home being completely destroyed. He said, “I’m doing good. You know, it’s just a thing. But, you know, it is obviously kind of devastating. It’s emotional,” Gibson shared. “You live there for a long time and you had all your stuff. You remember George Carlin talking about your stuff?” Reflecting on the loss of personal items accumulated over the years, he added with a wry sense of humor, “I’ve been relieved from the burden of my stuff because it’s all in cinders.”

The ‘Passion of the Christ’ director was recording a podcast with Joe Rogan when the fire broke out near his home. “I was kind of ill at ease while we were talking because I knew my neighborhood was on fire,” Gibson revealed. “I thought, I wonder if my place is still there. But when I got home, sure enough, it wasn’t there.”

He said that he returned home to see the charred remains of his beloved home, and they took some videos of the destruction. “Rose [his wife] took some, and I took some. The chickens survived. It was amazing,” he said. “The chickens pooped, and they were fine. So we gave them some grain and some water, and they’re happy and laying eggs and stuff. They weren’t roast chickens.”

“We evacuated. See, I left on a plane, and the winds were picking up, and I went to Austin, and of course, while I was gone, whenever I leave town, a fire breaks out. It was the same last month I mean, it was the same thing the flames were like 200 yards away from my house, but this time, they came from the other direction and really nailed me, and I have never seen a place so perfectly burnt It is like it’s kind of you could put it in an urn. You know, yeah, there is nothing there.”

“Some of the neighbors really got it hard,” Gibson continued. “Ed Harris, the actor who lived down the street—I think his place is gone. It was kind of random. It wasn’t every place, but it was quite a few. A dozen places were just non-existent. I mean, nothing but a chimney and a few roof tiles.”

WATCH:

“We’ll go through the usual motions, I guess. There’s some kind of insurance, maybe. I can’t even tell you anymore. But, you know, it’s emotional,” he added. “I lived there for about 14, 15 years. So it was, it was home to me and I had a lot of personal things there that I can’t get back. All kinds of stuff, everything from photographs to files to… just personal things that I had from over the years and clothing, and you know, it’s pretty cool stuff, you know, but, you know, hey, that can all be replaced. These are only things.”

Despite all that was lost, Gibson attempted to remain positive.  “The good news is that those in my family, and those I love are all well, we’re all happy and healthy and out of harm’s way. And that’s all I care about, really.”
