Panama Bends the Knee to Trump – Steps Away from China

On Sunday, Panamanian President Jose Raul Mulino announced that the country will not be renewing its agreement with China’s Belt and Road Initiative. This came after a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and appears to be a “bending the knee” moment as President Donald Trump has accused Panama of violating the terms of former President Carter’s treaty – citing unfair canal fees and their growing relationship with China.

After meeting with Rubio. Mulino announced that while the agreement is not due for renewal for another year or two, he is going to study it to see “whether it can be finished earlier or not.”

The announcement provides a massive blow to China’s influence in the Western Hemisphere, as Panama will be the first Latin American nation to lead the Belt and Road Initiative. The ambitious Chinese project has long been aimed at reestablishing the Silk Road, a network of trading routes between the East and the West. Beijing builds infrastructure in nations that sign on, oftentimes giving the Chinese government control over the economies and national security interests of developing nations.

Chinese businesses operate ports near the Panama Canal, while Panama was the first Latin American nation to join the Belt and Road Initiative. The canal was built and operated by the U.S. until 1999, when it was transferred to Panama under a treaty negotiated by former President Jimmy Carter in the late 1970’s.

During the highly anticipated meeting, Rubio warned Mulino that China’s presence in Panama represented a threat to the waterway and violates the terms of the Panama Canal treaty. “Secretary Rubio made clear that this status quo is unacceptable and that absent immediate changes, it would require the United States to take measures necessary to protect its rights under the Treaty,” State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce told Reuters.

During his inauguration speech in January, Trump declared that the United States would be retaking control of the Panama Canal if the treaty violations are not addressed.

He wrote on Truth Social shortly after his re-election in November, “The Panama Canal is considered a VITAL National Asset for the United States, due to its critical role to America’s Economy and National Security. A secure Panama Canal is crucial for U.S. Commerce, and rapid deployment of the Navy, from the Atlantic to the Pacific, and drastically cuts shipping times to U.S. ports. The United States is the Number One user of the Canal, with over 70 percent of all transits heading to, or from, U.S. ports.”

“It was likewise not given for Panama to charge the United States, its Navy, and corporations, doing business within our Country, exorbitant prices and rates of passage. Our Navy and Commerce have been treated in a very unfair and injudicious way. The fees being charged by Panama are ridiculous, especially knowing the extraordinary generosity that has been bestowed to Panama by the U.S. This complete ‘rip-off’ of our Country will immediately stop,” Trump added.

Buckle Up, Arthur! FCC Launches Investigation into PBS, NPR

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) under President Donald Trump has launched an investigation into two media outlets: the National Public Radio (NPR) and PBS. The investigation is over concerns that the stations may be airing “prohibited commercial advertisements,” as reported by the New York Times.

“I am concerned that NPR and PBS broadcasts could be violating federal law by airing commercials,” FCC chair Brendan Carr said in a letter obtained by the Times. “In particular, it is possible that NPR and PBS member stations are broadcasting underwriting announcements that cross the line into prohibited commercial advertisements.”

According to FCC regulations, businesses are able to support noncommercial radio and television stations, like the ones under investigation, via on-air announcements – otherwise known as underwriting sponsorship. While it is similar to normal commercial advertising, it has additional FCC regulations that don’t normally apply to routine radio and television ads.

On Wednesday, Carr sent letters to NPR CEO Katherine Maher and PBS CEO Paula Kerger, according to the report. Carr has been a member of the FCC since 2017 and was most recently tapped by President Trump to lead the commission during his second term in the White House.

In the letter, Carr explained that he will be notifying Congress about the investigation. He further noted that lawmakers are currently debating whether NPR or PBS should receive any taxpayer funding at all. “In particular, Congress is actively considering whether to stop requiring taxpayers to subsidize NPR and PBS programming,” he wrote, according to the New York Times.

“To the extent that these taxpayer dollars are being used to support a for profit endeavor or an entity that is airing commercial advertisements, then that would further undermine any case for continuing to fund NPR and PBS with taxpayer dollars,” the letter continued.

In response, NPR CEO Katherine Maher stated that her outlet’s sponsorship practice “complies with federal regulations.”

“NPR programming and underwriting messaging complies with federal regulations, including the FCC guidelines on underwriting messages for noncommercial educational broadcasters, and Member stations are expected to be in compliance as well,” when asked for comment, Maher told Fox News.

“We are confident any review of our programming and underwriting practices will confirm NPR’s adherence to these rules,” she continued. “We have worked for decades with the FCC in support of noncommercial educational broadcasters who provide essential information, educational programming, and emergency alerts to local communities across the United States.”

Trump has expressed the desire to pull public funding from the media outlet on several occasions. In April 2024, he posted to Truth Social, “NO MORE FUNDING FOR NPR, A TOTAL SCAM!” He added, “THEY ARE A LIBERAL DISINFORMATION MACHINE. NOT ONE DOLLAR!!!”

Can we PLEASE stop giving the spotlight to dumb people who take 30 seconds of fame and somehow stretch it into years of agonizing virtue signaling?

The left has now elected the wimpiest boy alive to be one of the three Democratic National Committee (DNC) vice chairs.

On Friday, far-left gun control activist David Hogg secured his victory – swelling his already inflated, woke head – after four rounds of voting.

“Who’s ready to take the fight to the Republicans and win this thing? Are you guys ready to fight?” Hogg declared in his victory speech. “It’s been a long day, but guess what? We have a long road ahead. Let’s go and kick some ass. Let’s go win our young people back, and let’s stop sending just our thoughts and prayers to address gun violence and do something.”

Hogg became a household name in 2018 when his classmates were murdered in the Parkland High School shooting. Literally the only thing “qualifying” him for this role.

In November, he appeared on CNN and declared, “I’m considering it because I think that one, obviously, I think we need a new generation in the DNC. If this election has taught us nothing else, I think we need an intergenerational coalition as a party.”

I think the most ironic part of it, is that there are unconfirmed rumors that Hogg wasn’t even present the day of the shooting. In which case, he has been riding the coattails of this tragedy for years.

So which is it? Was he in school or was he at home? None of his stories add up.

Passengers Forced to Evacuate After United Plane Bursts Into Flames

On Sunday, a United Airlines flight was forced to evacuate after the aircraft caught on fire during takeoff at the George Bush Intercontinental.

The “engine issue” was caught on video shared with Fox 26 Hourston, which shows flames bursting out of one of the plane’s wings as passengers rushed to evacuate.

In the clip, you can hear a flight attendant asking passengers to remain in their seats, to which someone shouted back, “NO, it’s on fire!”

Passengers were ultimately forced to use stairs and the emergency slide to get off of the plane, according to the Houston Fire Department. A separate video shows passengers waiting on the tarmac after evacuating.

Thankfully, no injuries were reported as a result of the incident. The Houston Fire Department told Fox 26 that they did not have to put out the fire, suggesting that aircraft safety mechanisms help up.

The jet, an Airbus A319, was preparing to fly to LaGuardia Airport in New York at the time of the incident. 104 passengers and five crew members were onboard at the time, all of whom were safely evacuated.

The FAA is currently investigating the fire, and the cause of the malfunction is not known as of this report.

The agency announced, “During takeoff, United flight 1382 received an indication about one engine and halted the takeoff while still on the runway. Passengers deplaned on the runway via a combination of slides and stairs and were bused to the terminal. There are no reported injuries at this time. We have lined up a different aircraft to take customers to their destination at 12:30 p.m. CT.”

Seems like not a great time to be flying, if you ask me.

MTG Proposes Tossing Foreign News Outlets: ‘American Media FIRST’

On Friday, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene proposed tossing foreign news outlets out of the White House briefing room and only allowing American media to be present.

Greene’s comments came after a video posted on X by Gunther Eagleman showed the White House press briefing, during which a reporter asked White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt about federal agency staffing, including the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) following Wednesday night’s crash between an American Airlines flight and a military helicopter.

She reposted Eagleman’s tweet, giving props to Leavitt’s work and also slammed the reporter for having a foreign accent. Greene wrote, “@PressSec is doing a wonderful job! Bringing sanity and common sense and throwing it in the faces of the nasty legacy media. How about that accent from that reporter? I think we need to throw out all the foreign press! American media first.”

Should foreign press be kicked from the briefings completely? Should they be allowed to stay but moved to the back of room?

James Carville on Kamala Harris: ‘Couldn’t Put Together a Sentence’ (VIDEO)

We already knew that former Vice President Kamala Harris wasn’t the sharpest crayon in the box….but now her own party is selling her out.

Political consultant and actor James Carville is telling the world how he really feels about Harris as a candidate, and it’s about as bad as you can imagine. During a live event for Firing Line, he compared her to a “seventh string” quarterback who “couldn’t put together a sentence.”

He’s not wrong though!

If you had the staggering talent that exists in today’s Democratic Party, and people would have seen that, they’d have gone, I didn’t know they had people like that, can actually complete a sentence, okay, that actually can know how to frame a message, that actually have a sense of accomplishment of doing something. If we would have excited people, and we would have had people from the middle of the country, we would have had people from the coast, we’d have been diverse, we’d have been, and then when you do that, that’s how people get involved in politics. We have not had an inspirational presidential candidate since 2012.

That’s a problem.

Trump’s Efforts Free SIX American Hostages from Venezuela

According to reports, six Americans being held hostage in Venezuela have been freed after President Donald Trump’s envoy for special missions, Richard Grenell, visited the country.

Trump wrote on Truth Social, “Just been informed that we are bringing six hostages home from Venezuela. Thank you to Ric Grenell and my entire staff. Great job!”

The Hill reports:

Grenell met with Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro to send a warning about the consequences that would come from the continued detainment of the Americans.

“We are wheels up and headed home with these 6 American citizens. They just spoke to @realDonaldTrump and they couldn’t stop thanking him,” after securing the hostages, Grenell post a photo with the six men on X.

Prior to Friday’s hostage release, at least 10 American citizens were being detained in Venezuela.

Mauricio Claver-Carone, Trump’s special envoy for Latin America, told reporters in an earlier call on Friday that Grenell was visiting Latin America on a “very specific mission” that did not affect the U.S.’s posture towards Maduro’s leadership. The U.S. government maintains Maduro’s election victory was “illegitimate” and a “desperate attempt to seize power.”

Reports suggest the deal involved Venezuela agreeing to accept Venezuelan migrants from the U.S. and the release of the Americans in exchange for the U.S. giving Venezuela certain concessions. However, the details of the agreement were not immediately clear.

Left Elects Whitest Man Alive as New Leader of the DNC

On Saturday, the left voted to elect Minnesota state party chair Ken Martin as the new chair of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) with 246 votes out of 428.

It’s not surprising considering he has been a frontrunner in the race, and beat out Wisconsin state party chair Ben Wikler and former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley.

It is interesting to see a white man elected into the position though, considering how work and “diverse” the liberal party brags to be.

“Let me just start out by saying we have one team,” Martin announced after his win. “One team. The Democratic Party.”

“As I said from the beginning, I’m not running against them any more than they were running against us,” he said of his fellow opponents. “It is my guarantee to each of you that we’re going to take the great ideas from all the candidates in this race, we’re going to bring them into this great party, we’re going to unify this party together and we’re all going to roll up our sleeves together to build this party.”

It honestly makes sense that they would elect him as their chair considering he was a Tim Walz’s (aka Tampon Tim) life coach and advisor. What a fitting match for the Democratic Party.

Sen. Chucky in Hot Water After Threatening Supreme Court

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer is now under investigation by Interim D.C. U.S. Attorney Ed Martin after he made threatening comments towards Supreme Court justices in 2020.

Schumer told Justices Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorscuch that they will “pay a price” if they voted to overturn Roe V. Wade, while speaking on the steps of the U.S. Supreme Court. In 2022, Roe V. Wade was overturned.

“Over the last three years, women’s reproductive rights have come under attack in a way we haven’t seen in modern history. From Louisiana, to Missouri, to Texas, Republican legislatures are waging a war on women, all women, and they’re taking away fundamental rights,” Schumer said at the time. “I want to tell you, Gorsuch, I want to tell you, Kavanaugh, you have released the whirlwind and you will pay the price. You won’t know what hit you, if you go forward with these awful decisions.”

Schumer quickly walked his comments back while speaking from the Senate floor a few days later, stating that he was not threatening Supreme Court justices. In a non-apology, the top Senate Democrat stated that he “shouldn’t have used the words I did” while claiming that conservatives were attempting to “generate outrage” over his comments. He was later hit with an ethics complaint that went nowhere.

In a January 21 letter that was obtained by the Washington Post, interim D.C. U.S. Attorney Ed Martin confirmed that he is opening a “preliminary inquiry” into Schumer’s threatening comments. “We take threats against public officials very seriously. I look forward to your cooperation,” Martin wrote in the letter, which was addressed to Schumer.

The nation’s top elected Democrat has a history of making ominous, threatening comments towards his political opponents. During the opening stages of the bogus Russian collusion investigation, Schumer stated that President Trump was “really dumb” for “taking on” U.S. intelligence agencies before suggesting that there would be retribution.

“Let me tell you, you take on the intelligence community, they have six ways from Sunday at getting back at you,” Schumer said during an appeared on MSNBC with Rachel Maddow. “So even for a practical, supposedly hard-nosed businessman, he’s being really dumb to do this.”
