On Friday, President Donald Trump signed an executive order to block federal funds for any schools or universities that require students to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, fulfilling another one of his campaign promises by ending “coercive” vaccine mandates in education.
As explained in a fact sheet by the White House, officials have deemed this a matter of protecting students’ access to education.

It continued, “[He] is dedicated to ensuring that American students are not forced to choose between their education and their medical freedom … fulfilling his campaign promise: ‘I will not allow schools to impose COVID vaccine mandates.’”
In addition, the White House declared the mandates to be “threatening educational opportunities.”
