Florida-based cruise company Villa Vie Residences has made waves with the announcement of its new Tour La Vie program. This unique offering allows passengers to embark on an extensive journey visiting over 140 countries, all while steering clear of the United States. The program features several options for extended stays aboard the Villa Vie Odyssey, including a one-year “Escape from Reality” cruise, a two-year “Mid-Term Selection,” a three-year “Everywhere but Home,” and the ambitious four-year “Skip Forward” trip.
CEO Mikael Petterson explained that the marketing campaign was devised without any political agenda in mind. He told Newsweek, “We came up with this marketing campaign before we even knew who would win. Regardless of who would have won, you would have half of the population upset.” Petterson emphasized that their goal was simply to offer people an opportunity to escape if they felt threatened.
Honestly, as hilarious as this sounds, that guy saw a business opportunity and SIEZED IT! Good for him. Make that money! That’s what the American dream is all about!

The pricing for this extraordinary adventure starts at just under $40,000 per year. For those opting for single-occupancy cabins over the full four years, prices begin at $256,000. Double-occupancy rates can reach up to $320,000 for the entire trip. Included in these costs are all meals and beverages (with alcohol available only at dinner), WiFi access, medical visits, weekly housekeeping services, and bi-weekly laundry services.
The itinerary promises excitement and discovery as passengers spend a month exploring the Caribbean before embarking on a four-month South American voyage. Highlights include two Panama Canal transits, visits to two World Wonders, sailing through the Chilean Fjords and Antarctica, experiencing Carnival in Rio de Janeiro, and an eight-day exploration along the Amazon River.
Following its announcement on November 7th, Villa Vie Residences has reported a significant increase in inquiries about this unique cruise experience. Notably, American travelers aboard during critical election periods like the midterm elections in 2026 or presidential elections in 2028 will still be able to participate through mail-in ballots coordinated by the cruise line’s corporate office.
Four-year cruise offered to struggling liberals who need to "escape" from the Donald Trump presidency.
Great idea.
One woman says she wishes she knew sooner so she could have sold her house and belongings.

Petterson shared insights into life onboard during Election Night festivities where separate watch parties were held: one tuned into Fox News while another followed MSNBC coverage. Despite initial reluctance among some passengers to engage with each other due to differing political views—“They didn’t want to talk to one another,” Petterson noted—the atmosphere remained amicable as guests focused more on enjoying their shared lifestyle than debating politics.
The Villa Vie Odyssey itself is an impressive vessel capable of accommodating up to 600 residents as it embarks on its ambitious 15-year global tour covering all seven continents along with visits to 13 World Wonders and over 100 tropical islands. Recently entering its second month at sea after resolving unexpected repairs that left it stranded in Belfast for four months earlier this year; originally scheduled departures were delayed until late September when finally setting sail from Northern Ireland’s capital city towards fulfilling these grand adventures awaiting ahead!
