It is undeniable that the University of Mississippi has witnessed an extraordinary event, where thousands of students gathered to boldly express their faith in Jesus Christ. This remarkable gathering on October 10, reported by the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN), showcased the power of religious conviction and community.
A staggering 6,500 “Ole Miss” students filled the Sandy and John Black Pavilion in Oxford. They came together to sing praise music, hear the gospel, and participate in baptisms. The organizers of the Unite US event shared photos on social media, expressing their amazement:
“Ole Miss, you absolutely blew us away tonight,” the Christian group said.
“College students, we are so proud of your boldness to let go of the things that have been holding you back from all God has in store for you.”
A heartfelt video posted to Instagram captures a young woman’s moving testimony. She recounts how an “act of God” saved her from a suicide attempt following trauma and drug addiction during her teenage years, leading her to wholeheartedly embrace Jesus.
The student’s tears of joy were evident as she emerged from the baptism pool after sharing her story.
Event organizer Tonya Prewett passionately declared in a September podcast, “I believe this is the generation that will usher in the greatest move of God we’ve ever seen, and we’re seeing that. And I do believe what we had in the fall and spring of this past year is just the beginning. Greater things are coming, and I feel for the end of this year and leading into 2025, something greater is coming. God is doing something across this nation… I do believe this move of God on college campuses is ushering in a greater awakening.”
In an October 11 Facebook post, the evangelist confirmed that “God moved at Ole Miss”:
