META Bends the Knee to MAGA! Zuckerberg ‘Donates’ $1M to Trump’s Inaugural Fund

In a move that underscores the shifting political landscape, Meta has confirmed its $1 million donation to President-elect Trump’s inaugural fund. This significant contribution comes on the heels of CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s visit to Trump at his Mar-a-Lago resort, a meeting perceived as an effort to align with the incoming administration as it prepares to reclaim the White House.

Is Zuck trying to buy forgiveness now that he realizes he’s at the short end of the stick?

Nick Clegg, Meta’s president of global affairs, emphasized Zuckerberg’s eagerness to engage in vital discussions about maintaining America’s technological supremacy under any administration.

The relationship between Zuckerberg and Trump has seen its ups and downs, especially after Facebook banned Trump following the events of January 6th. However, with Trump’s account reinstated in 2023, there seems to be a renewed understanding between the two. Trump himself has expressed a newfound appreciation for Zuckerberg, stating he likes him “much better now.”

Despite not endorsing any candidate during the 2024 presidential election, Zuckerberg occasionally commented on political matters. Notably, he referred to Trump as a “badass” for his swift response after surviving an assassination attempt last July.

Meta’s platforms have also taken steps to distance themselves from political content during elections. Instagram announced earlier this year that it would stop recommending political content unless users specifically adjust their settings.
