California Gov. Gavin Newsom is in PANIC MODE! He just called a special session of the legislature to “Trump-proof” the state. This move is nothing more than a political stunt aimed at undermining the incoming federal administration led by President-elect Trump.
Newsom had the nerve to boast on X (formerly Twitter), “I just called an emergency special session to help bolster our legal resources and protect our state against any unlawful actions by the incoming Trump Administration.” He claims this is about protecting “our fundamental civil rights, reproductive freedom, or climate action,” but let’s be honest—it’s a direct attack on Republican values and principles.
California is ready to fight.

President-elect Trump rightly fired back on Truth Social, pointing out how Newsom is misusing the term ‘Trump-Proof’ to block all the fantastic initiatives that could actually “Make California Great Again.”

Newsom might fancy himself as some sort of leader of the so-called “resistance” against Trump, but he’s fighting a losing battle. After all, Trump secured a popular majority and even garnered nearly 40% of the vote in California—a clear sign that many Californians are tired of Newsom’s antics.

During Trump’s first administration, Newsom was constantly at odds with him over issues like immigration, water, high-speed rail, and wildfires. Yet, Trump still stepped up and provided emergency assistance to California when it was necessary. It’s time for Newsom to stop playing politics and start working for the people he claims to represent.
