Fetterman Breaks Ranks, Blasts Chaos in Democratic Leadership

Senator John Fetterman admitted what most Democrats won’t say out loud: there’s no clear leadership in the party. Appearing on Fox News’s Fox & Friends, the Pennsylvania Democrat told Lawrence Jones, “No one really knows” who is running the show in either chamber of Congress.

Check it out:

His blunt remark came as Democrats remain divided over how to handle the government shutdown, which dragged on for more than a month before the Senate finally voted 60 to 40 to fund parts of the government through next September. Fetterman was one of eight Democrats who voted for the bill, which excludes language extending the Affordable Care Act’s enhanced subsidies — a key demand from the party’s progressive wing.

“I think my values are reflected in my vote and the things that I support here,” Fetterman said. “And if that might put me at odds with parts of my party, I’m okay with that.”

Fetterman’s candor reflects a growing rift inside the Democratic ranks, as moderates try to distance themselves from the left’s never-ending wish list of spending and regulation. While President Trump continues to call on Congress to end the shutdown responsibly, Democrats can’t seem to agree on what “responsibly” even means.

Later on The View, Fetterman took another swipe at his own party for “celebrating” Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, calling her “crazypants.” His comments highlight what many voters already sense: the Democratic Party is rudderless, fractured, and stuck in a leadership vacuum — while the Trump administration keeps leading from the front.
