Trump Presidential Library to Bring Jobs and Legacy to Downtown Miami

Key Takeaways

  • Miami Chosen for Trump Library: Florida officials approved plans for President Trump’s presidential library to be built on a prime site in downtown Miami, adjacent to the historic Freedom Tower.
  • Economic and Cultural Boost: Developer Gil Dezer says the project will bring jobs, tourism, and prestige to the city — calling it a “legacy” that will last for generations.
  • A Tribute to Freedom: Dezer says the design will reflect both Trump’s signature elegance and Miami’s history, creating “something timeless and meaningful” for the community.

Miami is preparing to make history — again. Developer Gil Dezer, one of former President Donald Trump’s longtime business partners, says the city is “ready” to host Trump’s presidential library, calling it a “perfect fit” for both the man and the moment.

“From all the different cities and states he could have chosen, I mean, Florida showed him a lot of love, and he’s showing it right back at us,” Dezer told Fox News Digital. “So we’re very proud to have it here in Florida, in Miami.”

Florida officials recently approved plans for the Trump Presidential Library to be built on a prime 2.63-acre site in downtown Miami, right next to the city’s iconic Freedom Tower — a historic landmark that once welcomed Cuban refugees fleeing communism. Governor Ron DeSantis and the Florida Cabinet voted unanimously to transfer the land to the Trump Presidential Library Foundation, which will have five years to begin construction.

The project is expected to create thousands of jobs and inject fresh energy into the heart of Miami. Dezer says the library should “blend Trump’s signature style with Miami’s terracotta influence” and hopes it will become both a cultural landmark and a working library — a place for “real books, quiet study, and learning.”

“He’s placing a stamp right [at the] dead center of Miami,” Dezer said. “He could have chosen anywhere to go, but Miami is mature enough and ready enough for this kind of project. We should be very proud that Trump chose us — and it’s gonna be here forever.”
