CNN got a little too real Thursday night when senior political commentator Scott Jennings couldn’t keep a straight face after Ana Navarro made the bold (and hilarious) claim that President Joe Biden doesn’t “tell many lies.” Bless her heart, she really tried.
The fireworks started when Navarro — who also moonlights as a co-host on ABC’s The View — jumped in to defend Biden’s denial of a pretty specific quote. According to the book Fight: Inside the Wildest Battle for the White House, Biden allegedly told Kamala Harris to keep “no daylight” between her and his agenda during the 2024 campaign — a move that basically glued her to one of the most unpopular administrations in modern history.
Jennings, clearly not buying it, pressed Navarro: did she really believe Biden never lies? That’s when she dropped this gem: “I don’t think he tells many lies.” Cue Jennings bending over in laughter like he’d just heard the punchline of the year — because honestly, he did.

Care to weigh in, @amieparnes and @jonallendc?
You’ve been called liars here on the “no daylight kid” moment – but my bet is you’ve got it right and Joe Biden can’t remember what he had for breakfast yesterday.

Navarro didn’t take the chuckle lightly. She snapped back, saying Jennings was too quick to believe the book over Biden’s on-air denial earlier that same day on The View. “You think reporting can never be wrong?” she asked, clearly flustered.
Jennings stood his ground, pointing out that trusting Biden’s version of events over detailed reporting is… let’s just say, generous. That’s when Navarro really let it fly, shouting: “You support a guy who lies every freaking day.” Classy.
Jennings didn’t flinch, calling Biden’s memory “implausible” and basically saying what most Americans with common sense already know: this president’s credibility has more holes than Swiss cheese.
Things got so heated CNN anchor Abby Phillip had to step in and shut it down before it turned into a full-blown shouting match.
But the debate didn’t end there. Jennings took the fight to social media, tagging the authors of the book and asking them to confirm their reporting. Jonathan Allen, one of the authors, fired back Friday: “We stand by our reporting,” and even noted that The View itself acknowledged the quote was “deeply sourced.”
In other words: receipts, folks. Biden may deny it. Navarro may deflect. But facts don’t lie — even if certain presidents do.
